Daljit Kaur Soni

Civil & Workers' Rights Attorney; Co-Host of The Lion’s Den

Daljit Kaur Soni, Esq., recently joined the Disparity to Parity Project to lead archival research into agricultural policy between India and the United States. Since the Indian Farmers Revolution in November 2020, she has been engaged in transnational organizing to build solidarity among parallel agrarian movements. She co-hosts “The Lion’s Den,” a live Instagram program connecting movement building to food systems transformation, and was recently nominated to the Agroecology Research Action Collective. The daughter of Punjabi Sikh farmers who immigrated to California in the 1970s, she graduated from the Honors Lawyering Program at Golden Gate University, and is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., and California. Her 14 years of litigation experience include representing migrant farmworkers seeking justice for wage theft, sexual assault and other violations. She has worked for the California Rural Legal Assistance, the Dolores Huerta Foundation and the National Lawyers Guild. She lives in Fulton, Maryland, with her husband and three daughters.
